An
Ophthalmologist is a doctor (M.D. or D.O.) who is licensed to
practice medicine and surgery, and specializes in all aspects of eye and
vision care. In diagnosis and treatment, the ophthalmogist
prescribes medicines, glasses, contact lenses and performs surgery.
